FundMate Pricing FAQ's

Who handles credit card transactions? is it secure?
Paypal handles all credit card transactions. Our system is integrated with Paypal and will direct your visitors to Paypal for final settlement. It is all done in a safe and secure environment.

How does the Organization receive the funds collected?
With FundMate, there are two options to receive the funds collected:
1. Direct payment into your own Paypal account. This is the best option if your organization has its own PayPal account.
2. Monthly checks mailed to your organization's address. This is the best option if your organization doesn't have its own PayPal account.

What are the charges if I use my own Paypal account?
It depends on how much is collected in a given month. If you collect less than $1,000 in a month, the minimum of $10 will apply. Otherwise, 1% of the total collected in that month will apply. So, if your organization collected $500 in June, then the charge for June would be $10. If your organization collected $2,000 in October, then the charge for October would be $20. These charges exclude the fees collected by PayPal on each transaction.

How many fund activities can I create?
You can create as many fund activities as you want. If you are using your own PayPal account, the monthly charge is based on the total amount collected across all of your activities.

How does FundMate collect the monthly fees if I use my own PayPal account?
Soon after the end of every month, YourSchoolMate will send your organization a PayPal payment request for the amount due. Your organization can then use their PayPal account to pay our PayPal account - quick and easy.

What are the charges if I receive monthly checks?
If you choose to receive monthly checks, there is a transaction fee of 50 cents + 5% (with a $1.00 minimum) on each donation or fee payment. There are no monthly charges involved and this amount includes the PayPal transaction fee. With donations, this charge is paid by the organization so the benefactor only pays the donation amount. With fees (tuition, membership, other), the surcharge is paid by the payer so the organization receives the net amount.

What do the FundMate charges buy me?
The FundMate charges allow you to setup unlimited fund activities with a customized Fund Collection Home Page for each one. The value of this is that you can collect and track funds separately across different types of activities like donations, tuition fees, membership dues etc. FundMate's easy-to-use reports show you how much is collected in each fund activity. Another benefit is that FundMate provides a way for your organization to absorb transaction fees or pass the charge on to the payee by designating the type of fund activity as either a donation or fee.

Is there a minimum and maximum fund/fee collection amount?
You can collect a minimum of $2 and a maximum of $5000 through yourschoolmate.com and the payee can use either a credit card or their own PayPal account.

How do I keep track of Funds collected?
Organization users can view private up-to-date online reports of the money collected 24/7 using the easy to use Fund Report screen. In addition, anytime someone makes a payment, we'll send you a payment received notification email, complete with payment details.

What are the PayPal transaction fees?
Anytime someone uses PayPal with a credit card or their own PayPal account, PayPal withholds a portion of the amount from the recipient so the amount received is less. For most organizations, this is 2.9% + 30 cents. By designating your fund activity as either a donation or fee (membership, tuition, other), FundMate provides a way for your organization to absorb this fee or pass the charge on to the payee.

Does FundMate provide refunds?
No. FundMate will not process refunds on the fees collected for your organization. Your organization may choose to offer refunds outside of FundMate.
